If you are using this as an SMS Aggregator through Amtelco, you will need to update to another service in addition to updating your T3 Virtual Terminal. Amtelco has established working relationships with Infinite Convergence, TTG and with IS 5.7+, Twilio. Please reach out to trainers@amtelco.com or service@amtelco.com for assistance.

A customer recently brought to Amtelco’s attention that log data saved in application debug files could contain password and/or protected health information data. Amtelco researched and confirmed that plain text log file contains agent keystroke data. It was also confirmed the log data keeps a 10-day history of agent keystrokes.

For Customers that have concerns about having these files on the local workstation, Amtelco can provide instructions on how to stop all logging on the agent workstations. Future releases of Web Agent Shell will have a setting so keystroke logging will be disabled, while all the other agent logging remains active.

Amtelco has identified an issue where if Genesis receives a valid SIP INVITE with the From or Caller ID headers including a %s (digits may be included between the % and s characters), the Genesis server will stop functioning properly. While this is not a common occurrence, it is recommended to take steps to upgrade your Genesis version. Upgrade considerations may apply – please reach out to Amtelco Field Engineering for questions or to schedule an upgrade.

On May 14th, 2024, it was reported the Amtelco applications, in some places, are using a deprecated encryption algorithm. It was also realized the encryption key being used with this deprecated encryption uses a simple key, increasing the potential that mishandled data could lead to a data breach event.

A recent bug has been identified with CISCO releases higher than CM 12.5.14900-63. If a Cisco customer upgrades to version 12 on this revision (or newer), it will likely prevent you from being able to dial out on an Infinity VoIP card. Based on the information provided, version 14.3 and higher does have a resolution for this issue.

This Cisco bug would not affect Genesis users.

Cisco Bug ID: CSCwe31994

You can find more information on the Cisco Website using their bug search tool. You must log into your Cisco account to view the details.

Amtelco recently became aware of an issue affecting customers using Intelligent Series (IS) version 5.5. The system scheduled OnCall archive on is not reliably creating the archive files, but the server is marking the records as archived which could result in data being purged that has not been properly archived.

We are requesting that all customers running 5.5 versions of Intelligent Series remove all Archive OnCall and Purge OnCall actions from their system schedule until a fix can be installed. Search on schedule types of “Archive OnCall” and “Archive Purge” and remove those actions.

The OnCall schedules take up very little room in the database, so we have no concerns about leaving up to 24 months of schedules without them being archived and purged.

Amtelco is currently Beta testing the IS server release that fixes this issue and will send out notifications when it is ready for installation.

It is important to remove these items from your schedule ASAP. OnCall archiving and purging are suggested for system maintenance, but postponing archiving and purging of the records until a fix is available will have no impact on your system performance. Please note that the Archive Messages, Purge Messages, Archive Voice Logs, and Purge Voice Logs actions are not affected and should not be removed.

**There are now new IS server releases that include a fix for this issue. If you need assistance adding the Archive OnCall and Purge OnCall actions back into your system schedule, please contact Amtelco Field Engineering. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Genesis 5.07.X users will need IS Server version 5.05.8559.16189.
Genesis 6.06.X users will need IS Server version 5.05.8607.29482.

Google announced it will be making a change to the allowed methods of e-mail authentication on May 30th, 2022. This change removes basic authentication, which is the use of a simple user name and password, to log into Gmail services.

This change could impact some of your Amtelco applications if you use Gmail to send or receive e-mail messages. Because many Amtelco applications use basic authentication, a change needs to be made to your Google account and to each of the Amtelco applications that you use for email. A 16-character App Password will need to be generated and then used to replace the e-mail password that is configured within the e-mail settings for the Amtelco software.
