Moving to Genesis
Below are some of the considerations and tools to help when migrating to Genesis. For the key reasons below, Amtelco strongly advises migrating as soon as possible.
Key reasons to move to Genesis:
1. Hardware – Parts availability and obsolete components.
2. Networking – Encryption protocol changes.
3. Telephony – Advancements to SIP protocol could affect legacy hardware. PRI/T1 telephony becoming obsolete or cost prohibitive.
4. Security concerns with some products.
5. Amtelco software enhancements and feature opportunities.
Please note, this is a generalized list. If you would like to discuss more specific details, please reach out to Amtelco Field Service.
Where to begin:
Below are items you can start working on today – with or without a Genesis project in place.
1. Are using UltraComm or iFax and will still need faxing? Convert to an internet-based faxing solution now.
2. Are using eVoice Link or eResponse? Convert to Amtelco's MergeComm now.
3. Identify where you are using Dial Strings and how (Such as: Info Pages, Service Lists, Directories, Specials, etc.).
4. Clean up items:
- Remove Agents that are no longer needed
- Remove Clients that are no longer needed
- Review call distribution tables
- Validate call flows with each client
- Validate Info Pages and Directories are up-to-date
