The Advantages of Using Music On Hold for Waiting Callers
While callers don’t like to wait, it’s sometimes inevitable. For most, music is preferred over silence, so listening to music while waiting helps keep callers engaged. The music on hold feature has been available for all Amtelco systems, but new settings for music on hold are available in Intelligent Series (IS) Version 5.5.

Jaimie Guidry – Contracted Services
Officially, Jaimie Guidry was hired by Amtelco in September 2021 as a Contracted Services Team Lead, but she had been working with Amtelco for years as a customer and Beta user! Jaimie had been employed for 21 years as an application analyst working mostly with Intelligent Series (IS) related programming, as well as some work with an answering service’s IT/SE (information technology/software engineering) department.
Over the years, Jamie has given presentations at seminars as a customer of Amtelco. Her presentations were related to scripting, Amtelco features, and how to use various Amtelco products. She also taught at the National Amtelco Equipment Owners (NAEO) Summer Series for three years. Jaimie states, “Friends made at conferences are the most memorable. Special friends who understand our industry and our lives are priceless. I find the way the TAS industry supports each other is like no other. It’s pretty amazing.”
Today, as Amtelco’s Contracted Services Team Lead, Jaimie assists Amtelco customers who want to convert to Genesis by helping them get their accounts programmed into IS. She also assists with any complex programming needs. Jaimie says, “The best part of my job is when I’m working on scripting projects where we can make the customer’s job easier and teaching people scripting tidbits I’ve learned from others over the years.”
Jaimie’s home life is even busier than her work life! Jaimie states, “We have a pretty full house with 3 kids (one son is 22 years old, another son is 17 years old, and a 17-year-old daughter), 2 dogs (Cain – a Shih Tzu rescue and Oreo – a Catahoula stray), 1 cat (Lil’ Grey), 1 leopard gecko (Ackmed), 1 African sulcata tortoise (Milo), and the most recent addition, 2 ferrets (Kali and Mari. Yep, together they are calamari – my son’s idea).” They love spending time together sailing and camping. Jaimie continues, “Our family is a techy family, and oddly we like to use our free time lately to get away from it all and go sailing or primitive camping. However, we do still like to do nerdy stuff and play nerd board games.”
Three Random Things to Know About Jaimie
1. If you could max out your credit card at any store, what store would it be? I don’t like shopping, but I could easily max out a credit card buying stuff for our sailboat. BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand.
2. What is one of the things on your bucket list? To live and travel on our sailboat before we physically can’t do it.
3. If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go? Australia and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.
