Amtelco’s Expansion Supports Future Growth

Amtelco recently completed an expansion and remodel of their facility that had been under construction for the past year. The expansion allows for additional employee workspaces as they continue to grow and add new products and services to support their customers’ needs.

“This expansion supports our mission as we continue to work together to provide industry-leading solutions backed by five-star support,” said Tom Curtin, President of Amtelco. “Customer support is a top priority. Our workforce has increased by 15% in the past year to keep up with the needs of our customers.”

A remodel of the old production space was commemorated as the Joe Everly Courtyard. Joe Everly, CEO, has been a familiar face at Amtelco for over 30 years. Tom Curtin stated, “We are proud to honor Joe Everly’s hard work, guidance, and dedication.”

Recognized as a Top Workplaces employer, Amtelco is known for treating their employees like family. In appreciation of their employees, a wellness room, HR benefits room, and updated breakroom were also included in the remodel.

Melissa Cheramy – Field Engineering Administration Support

Melissa Cheramy was hired by Amtelco in 2018 as the Shipping Clerk after earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Winona State University in Winona, MN. Back then, most Amtelco customers didn’t get the chance to talk to Melissa, but that changed in 2020 when she took over the role previously held by Pam Mohns and became the Administration Support person for the Field Engineering department.

In her new position, Melissa dispatches calls for Amtelco’s field service team, manages the travel arrangements for the trainers and installation techs, and sometimes assists with app testing for the Quality Assurance (QA) department. “In shipping I did not get to interact with customers. But now that I am in Field Service, I get to talk daily to a lot of our great customers. We are lucky to have so many kind customers!” says Melissa.

When Melissa is away from the office, you can find her outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and floating on the lake. When not outside, she enjoys playing video games, playing board games, or reading.
