New miSecureMessages Apple App Release
An updated Apple iOS app will be released to the Apple App Store on November 8, 2023. Version 7.0.0 will include a newly redesigned user interface, improved Single Sign On (SSO), and improved Protected Dialing.
Please note this release requires Apple iOS 15.0 or later. This app is compatible with all current miSecureMessages server versions.
The Face ID and Touch ID features will be disabled when upgrading from 6.8 to 7.0.0. Users who are currently utilizing Face ID or Touch ID will need to re-enable this feature in the application after entering their passcode. In addition, all Single Sign-On (SSO) users will need to log back in after updating.
Amtelco also recommends all users upgrade to the latest Apple release with all security updates for the best app performance.

Employee Spotlight
Tylor Wolters – Software Engineer
Tylor Wolters graduated from Southern Illinois University in the spring of 2021, and by December he was hired by Amtelco as a software engineer. Tylor does back-end server development to support and enhance the functionality of the features offered by Amtelco software – bridging the gap between a button being clicked and the database responding. Tylor maintains the hidden technical systems that power the Intelligent Series (IS).
Most recently, Tylor has been working on role-based messaging to bridge communication between Amtelco’s secure messaging app, miSecureMessages, and IS. “Role-based messaging is especially useful in the healthcare industry,” says Tylor. “For example, say an emergency room anesthesiologist’s shift is ending. However, she has been waiting to hear if a patient will need her for surgery. When the new shift starts, she turns her smartphone over to the person relieving her. Because the care team sent messages regarding the patient to the anesthesiologist role, rather than to an individual, the anesthesiologist who is just coming into work can see the previous messages related to the patient, know the patient’s status, and be notified if they are needed for surgery. This way, critical communications aren’t lost due to staff changeover. My mom wishes this was around when she started nursing!”
When not at work, Tylor likes to spend time with his friends and significant other. He is an avid disc golf player and practices Brazilian Jui Jitsu. He says, “I got into Brazilian Jui Jitsu because my job consists of sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. I needed to do something more active. My gym offered a Brazilian Jui Jitsu as a trial, and it’s all I want to do now!”
Three Random Things to Know About Tylor
1. Where would you go if you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been to? I would love to visit California and see the Redwood Trees.
2. If you could eat anything in the world right now, what would it be? Spam Musubi. This is a Hawaiian food made in the tradition of Japanese onigiri. A slice of grilled Spam is sandwiched in between or on top of a rice block, then wrapped together with nori (seaweed).
3. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Better luck next time. Don’t worry so much.
